Stand Tall Again.
Recover From Addiction.

Reaching out for support around substance use or addiction can feel heavy, especially when shame or fear have kept you silent for a long time. You don’t have to face that alone. Our therapists understand how addiction develops and how trauma, stress, and coping patterns can make change feel complicated.

At The Canadian Recovery Collective, you’ll find a non-judgmental space to talk openly, explore what’s driving your substance use, and build strategies that feel realistic. Using approaches like cognitive-behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based tools, and trauma-informed care, we help you work toward the goals that matter to you, whether that’s reducing use, rebuilding stability, or pursuing sobriety.

No matter where you are in Canada from British Columbia to Newfoundland, our virtual counselling services bring expert addiction support directly to you.

Yes! The Canadian Recovery Collective provides virtual addiction counselling to clients throughout all Canadian provinces and territories. Our therapists are licensed to practice in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Nova Scotia, and we’re continuously expanding coverage. Because our services are delivered online, you can access compassionate, trauma-informed care from anywhere in Canada—whether you’re in a major city or a rural community. Virtual sessions eliminate travel barriers and provide the privacy and convenience you need to focus on recovery.

Unfortunately, no. Most individuals that have extended health benefits through their workplace have counselling coverage. We would encourage any individual interested in booking an appointment, look into their benefits to see which clinicians they are covered to see. Additionally, if you have First Nations or Inuit status, you may be eligible for coverage through the NIHB program.

That’s totally fine! There is never any pressure or forced agenda for counselling. Our counsellors are trained to honor your specific goals in treatment. It often takes time to build a therapeutic alliance and that’s ok. Take all the time you need.

As mental health professionals, we are called to this work for a mix of reasons and passions. Whatever you want to accomplish in sessions we can support you. Our counsellors use a harm-reduction approach so you never have to work towards complete sobriety – unless of course you want to.

We support clients dealing with both behavioural addictions and substance addictions. Behavioural addictions can include gambling, shopping, pornography, and compulsive gaming or phone use. Substance addictions may involve alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, cocaine, or opiates.

No. We follow a harm reduction framework. Clients do not need to be abstinent to begin. Therapy can help you reduce risks, use more safely, or work toward sobriety if that becomes your goal.

Our therapists use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, and relapse-prevention planning. These tools help you understand triggers, shift patterns, and build healthier ways to cope.

Many people struggling with addiction have a history of trauma or difficult life events. Our work is trauma-informed, meaning we address the underlying experiences that shape coping behaviours while prioritizing emotional safety and stability. Therapy moves at your pace.
